A day in Cocoa Beach and Port Canaveral...

Hi all,
Today is the last day before our cruise. We drove around Cocoa Beach and headed over to the port to watch the Saturday cruise departures. We saw the Disney Wonder and the Carnival Dream (pics below). Our vantage point was at a local Canaveral seafood and grill restaurant called 'Fishlips' (pics below).
We also went to the one-of-a-kind surf store called 'Ron Jons'.

Finally we are in Cocoa Beach, Florida

Hi All,
We have finally arrived in Cocoa Beach, which is the town near the Cruise Terminal. We will stay here for two nights and join the cruise on Sunday (Monday Sydney time).
Before we left Orlando we went shopping at the Nike Store where Tarin and the boys got a new pair of shoes.
We also stopped off at the Cruise Terminal to work out exactly where we need to go on Sunday. There was a sister ship there called 'Monarch of the Seas'.

Now in Alexandria, Louisiana...

Hi Everyone,
We spent several hours travelling today through Texas and Louisiana, including towns such as Shreveport. Shreveport is now well known as Air Force One landed there on the morning of 9/11 as it was unsafe to take the President to NY.
We are overnighting in Alexandria. We went out for a drive around Alexandria this afternoon, it is a nice place, quite spread out. Has all major services including an International Airport and a Wal-mart. We also went to Wal-mart (of course!).
Here are some pics of today's travels:

Today we will drive from our hotel in Dallas to Alexandria, Louisiana. The distance is ~500kms thus we will take most of the day to get there.
We overnight there before driving on tomorrow to Mobile (pronounced "Mo-beel) in Alabama.

Will upload pics of the day's travels this evening.

Downtown Dallas, TX

Following the visit to Dealey Plaza, we spent time driving around the streets of Dallas.
I quite like it here, very easy to get around.

Dealey Plaza (JFK assassination site)

Hi Everyone,

Today we went for a drive into downtown Dallas. We made a special visit to Dealey Plaza and the Texas School Book Depository, which is now the "Sixth Floor Museum".
There is an 'x' that marks the spot on the road (Elm St) where JFK was shot.
Here are some pics:
Bye for now...
